Resource Great Blogging Content
When you first start out with blogging your head is probably swimming with ideas that you can convert into great blog posts.
After a period of time though you feel like you are getting stale, and your posts just don’t have that same zest to them anymore. You are finding it increasingly difficult to find good content that you can put a unique spin on.
The difference between stealing and enhancing
Every blogger looks for information on the web that they can use. Sometimes this creates a guilty conscience. It makes you feel that you are stealing somebody’s hard work. This can be true if you are not taking that initial idea of someone else’s and expanding upon it with your own knowledge or opinions. Ideas are meant to be broadened.
A good example is a regular family physician makes a diagnosis that may lead sending that patient to a specialist. Now that specialist uses the same information that the family doctor provided but expands upon it.
Sourcing out your information
There are tons of different ways that you can source out the information that you want to write about. Many just check out what their competitors are posting and then expand upon this. That’s fine if you can add substance to it, and make it unique by adding your own take on the subject.
Otherwise, visitors who are interested in the topic soon become bored with the same old information that is just written in a different way.
A good comparison is like baking a chocolate cake and then using the exact same recipe and serving it as a cupcake. Both are different versions of the same thing.
What you may want to do is subscribe to a newsfeed that pertains to your niche and then gathers a gambit of information that you can compile with a different view into one informative post.
Think outside the box
There is always the most current agenda for writing good blog posts. For awhile you may see that the trend is to write short posts, then it switches over to developing lists, then it goes to long posts.
While these are all good markers to follow and knowing what the search engines are going to favor is critically important, the top priority is what your readers are going to like.
If your post just doesn’t have enough content to write 700 words which may be the current trend, then don’t do it. What ends up happening is you just start stuffing the post with fluff so you can reach the word count. Your visitors don’t care if there are 500 words or 1,000 words. What they care about is that each word has some value for them.
Always fill the need
Anyone that is reading your post has a need. Your objective is to fill that need with the content in your post. For example, the need here is for bloggers who feel like they have become stale and want fresh ideas to help them gather information.
My goal is to get you to think about how you can expand on what you already know about gathering information for your content. You already know where most of the information is for your particular niche, you just needed a reminder on how to use it effectively.
